After an intense Dynamic Yoga workshop at Akasha, Godfri and Olivia will lead two evening SahajaTantraYoga sessions. The presentation of tantra in the world today often shows deep misunderstanding of what tantra actually is. In the two sessions Godfri and Olivia will lead us through series of postures to experience the essence of tantra. Godfri and Olivia have over 40 years combined experience working with the energetic and sexual possibilities of the human body. Their ability to recognise and respond to the subtleties of the bodimind allow them to create and support a safe and fertile space for deep, transforming exploration.
What Godfri says about tantra:
"The essence of tantra is not sex, but appreciative acceptance of life as it is in its indivisible wholeness. This possibility of experiencing the unifying core of life even with its difficulties begins not in relation to others, but in our own inner experience. In the solitude of yoga posture practice, pranayama and meditation we can establish a deep intimacy with body mind and spirit and the vital energy that unifies them. These classes are designed to awaken, balance and distribute sexual energy as invitation to experience the ecstatic subtlety of the bodimind. No overtly sexual techniques are used."
About Godfri:
Godfri Devereux has been practicing and teaching yoga more than 35 years studying Shivananda, Iyengar and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. The power of his teaching rests directly on the depths of many years of Zen training, and the deep awakening this generated.
