Prashanti de Jager at Akasha
We are happy to announce the workshop with inspiring teacher, ayurvedist, herbalist and visionarist Prashanti de Jager. See the information below.
... The Art of living our day in harmony with the natural cycles
In this one day workshop we will explore the Ajurvedic wisdom of Dinacharya. In Sanskrit the daily routine is called the Dinacharya. Din means 'day' and acharya means, among other things, 'close to'. To be 'close to the day' in this respect actually means to merge your daily cycle with the natural cycles of the Sun, Moon, Earth, and the other planets in our Solar system. The reason for this is that your most healthy and happy state is your most natural state, and vice versa. Dinacharya, part of which is the science of chronobiology, is one of the most potent techniques that you can do to stay in balance, prevent disease and treat almost any disease. The Ayurvedic Rishis considered daily routine to be a stronger healing force than any other curative medicine and so devoted initial chapters in their books to this. Today's society is so alienated from Nature. Who knows what day of the cycle the moon is in? To really heal you must return to balance and know your place in the Universe. According to Ayurveda everything has medicinal value, from an herb to an emotion to a color. The different times of the day, of the year, of the life, of the moon, etc, all have different healing energies that we can yoke to and align with to give us much more ease and empowerment.

About the teacher:
After earning many degrees from the University of Michigan in the fields of Math, Physics, Biophysics and Emergency Medicine and studying numerous adjunct healing modalities in Ann Arbor, Prashanti moved to India in 1990 to study Advaita and the Vedic Sciences including Ayurveda, Vastu shastra, Yoga, Jyotish, etc. Traveling all over India training as an Ethnopharmacologist and living in North India he started to treat hundreds of sick locals and foreigners that came to him with a vast number of health issues.
To ensure high quality formulas for his clients he started an Ayurvedic herb company in 1993 in North India where he grew, wildcrafted and processed the herbs by hand. As the reputation for these herbs grew a beautiful team/Vision called Organic India emerged to serve the demand in a socially responsible and environmentally sustainable way. Now over 4000 farms in Northern India are transformed helping the farmers to lift the land out of the dire straits of the chemical/Mansanto mentality and into the realms of certified organic, Biodynamic, Fair Trade, Agnihotra herbal havens. Concurrent projects instill sustainable herbal wildcrafting amongst thousands of tribals in central India and also in the fragile ecosystems of the High Himalyas.
These projects earned Organic India the award for “The Most Socially Responsible Company,” in the entire natural products Industry of about 25,000 companies, an award cognate in its own way with the Noble prize.
While continuing his work with Organic India, he constantly is editing and writing articles for numerous magazines and his own books, he is teaching classes on herbs and Ayurvedic Medicine around the world from the Mayo Clinic to Children in local schools, and is creating an Ayurvedic Center in San Francisco. This Center houses a Clinic, one of the best Yoga-Ayurveda-Indological Libraries in the country, an excellent Apothecary, and is capable of creating very high quality premium medicines and formulas.
