Bhagavad Gita and witches

28/04/2010 10:36

Do you wonder what has the traditional yogic scripture of Bhagavad Gita in common with the Czech tradition of "Burning the witches" on April the 30th? Well, it is said that on tis night the evil spirits and witches gather together and to protect themselves from their dark powers, people would light large fire. On the other side, the Gita describes, how we can light the fire of knowledge inside of us to remove and destroy the darkness of our ignorance.

We decided to merge these traditions in a regular Bhagavad Gita class led by James Boag. This Friday, April 30th we will meet outside in a garden and sitting by the fire, James will explain another part of the Gita. The class will be followed by Kirtan by the fire. We believe the weather will be beautiful and will allow us to spend a beautiful night under the stars. Please bring your own pillow or mat to sit on and a blanket, in case it gets cold.

Our host will be Katka Fabíková, who (apart from celebrating birthday on this ausipcious day:) leads a Prana Vashya workshop on Sunday May 2nd, where you can still enroll.
