Maintain Balance in autumn and winterAs the seasons change so also do the way our bodies function. Ayurveda recommends ways to stay in harmony with the laws of nature. Ayurveda, the sister science of Yoga, sees that all of life is in a constant state of change. The seasons are perfect example of this. As the environment around us exhibits different qualities - warmth and humidity is summer, cool and dryness in autumn and winter, and then growth and wetness in spring - so too our internal environment, our bodies, changes to match the season.
Understanding these changes and how they affect our health, our emotions and even our thinking processes gives us great insight and allows us to ‘dance with seasons’, staying in step with them. Ayurveda says that indifference to the effects of the seasons is a major cause of ill health.
Join Tim for an entertaining and enlightening talk on simple things we can do to maintain harmony though these seasonal changes. We will gain suggestions on food, cooking and daily routines to support optimum health. We will also enjoy one of his heavenly soups for supper.
